SEMINAR: ‘THE CAREER PATH OF AN AUDITOR’

The Viet Australia Auditing Company (VAAL) and the Faculty of Finance and Banking at Hoa Sen University teamed up to host a seminar for the students on “The Career Path of an Auditor” on September 28. Co-Founder and Deputy General Director of VAAL, Mr. Le Quoc Hieu, gave some insightful observations based on his more than 20 years of experience in the auditing industry in both the Vietnamese and foreign markets.
Faculty of Finance and Banking students and instructors paid close attention to the seminar. At the beginning of the event, Ms. Do Thi Hong Ha, MA, the Vice Dean of the Faculty, expressed her thoughts as follows: “Through the theme of this seminar, we hope that students will gain practical insights from industry experts and, in turn, have suitable directions for their studies and personal development.”
After a description and introduction of the VAAL, the students eagerly awaited Mr. Le Quoc Hieu's presentation. According to Mr. Le Quoc Hieu, “the journey from being an assistant auditor to reaching higher levels in the profession is a process that requires constant effort, dedication, and a passion for the job.” He also provided examples of the career turning moments and auditor development milestones over time.
This profession offers good experiences as auditors interact with various clients from different fields and industries, ensuring a stable income along with career advancement. However, auditors are not exempt from pressure and stress in their work. Mr. Hieu shared the ups and downs of the profession in a humorous and realistic manner, drawing from his nearly 30 years of experience. He and the VAAL team then answered students' questions in detail, providing valuable insights into the auditing industry and helping the students better understand the opportunities and challenges in the future if they choose to pursue a career as auditors. As auditors deal with numerous clients from various sectors and businesses, they get valuable experience that will help them develop in their careers. However, pressure and stress at work are not unheard of for auditors.
Using his nearly 30 years of expertise, Mr. Hieu highlighted the ups and downs of the industry in a humorous and genuine manner. He and the VAAL team then thoroughly addressed the students' inquiries, giving them insightful information about the auditing sector and assisting them in better understanding the potential and difficulties they would face if they decided to become auditors in the future.
